Metal and Mallet are a small family business based in Tipperary. Donnacha is passionate about hand carving bespoke, sustainable, Irish pieces of Functional Art/furniture & lighting from Irish wood, Copper and Metal. Examples include eclectic Floor and Table lamps, Unique wooden/Copper & Metal sculpted Mirrors, Hand carved wooden and metal Tables, Sculpted wooden & metal Chairs,  Unique hand made Wooden/Copper & Metal Ceiling Lights,  Artistic hand made Wooden & Metal Sculptures etc. Each piece is handmade using traditional hand tools in order to maintain the integrity of the materials and to enable the design process to evolve. Each piece is years in the making: both in the passage of Nature and the endless labours of the Artist. Ideal designs to grace any room or as an exceptional gift. Metal and Mallet ethos is, that each piece, not only has a ‘story to tell’ but is also thought provoking and an exceptional pieces to admire. All of our wood is 100% sustainable and Irish. I cuts fallen trees only in Tipperary, season traditionally for 3.5 years. I nurture and replant saplings around our local area also. I am passionate about designing and hand carving eclectic pieces. I adore 1960’s architecture and include curves, textures and Symmetry in each of my one-of-a-kind designs: hence Metal and Mallet’s trademark Uniquely Unique!
