DFS invite you to Step Inside the Listening Lounge:
The Interior Trend Defining 2026

September 23, 2026

This Autumn at the PTSB Ideal Home Show, the DFS Interiors Theatre invites visitors to immerse themselves in the latest interiors trend taking centre stage in 2026 –  the Listening Lounge. Designed to celebrate personality, atmosphere and the joy of slowing down, this year’s Theatre blends confident design with luxurious comfort, inspiring visitors to find their thing and bring it to life at home.

Curated by Interior Stylist Sarah Twigg Doyle, the Theatre transforms into an inspirational living room that showcases the rich, mood‑driven aesthetic of the Listening Lounge. At its heart sits the French Connection Molten sofa, available exclusively at DFS, a piece that channels members’ club sophistication with deep comfort and warm, tactile finishes. Paired with the striking Wylde Zebra Accent Chair, the space layers rich caramels, warm browns and seriously stylish animal prints to create a room that feels both glamorous and deeply personal.

What is a Listening Lounge?

Listening lounges are emerging as one of 2026’s most meaningful interior trends because they tap into something we’re all craving: a place to slow down, switch off and be fully present. In a world of constant noise, these spaces create a deliberate pause, a room designed not for multitasking, but for listening, relaxing and reconnecting with the things that bring us joy. Signalling a shift towards a more analogue lifestyle, this trend evokes a special kind of nostalgia, encouraging you to play your favourite record, and get cosy with a book
