Positive Living has never been so important, this Showhouse reflects this very sentiment and will allow your imagination to drift towards your own Ideal Home.
Set in a beautiful landscaped garden by Outlook Gardens, the V2 Living Showhouse will bring together all the latest design concepts and products for every room in the house including Kitchen, Living & Entertainment, Master and Kids bedrooms, Bathroom and a Multi-Functional Office space.
Visitors will see how cleverly designed furniture, lighting, accessories and art can transform their home into a spacious, efficient aspirational haven.
According to North Design’s Lauren Martin
‘Blurring the lines between contemporary and traditional design is something more home owners are requesting from us; people want modern living, but still want to achieve a dateless sense of home.’
Designing a space through this outlook allows true creativity to flow creating more dynamic environments, playing on certain elements, giving them a twist. In the living area, North Design will work period style panelling on one wall, but the opposite wall will boldly feature tile cladding to swerve it away from the space looking too formal.
As you journey through the Dulux Showhouse you’ll meet the two styles juxta-positioned in a subtle way. Louise Rankin adds, ‘North Design will work with colours from the Signature Collection by Dulux to show how colour can be used to transcend a mix of contemporary and traditional styles.
To complement this concept and to act as a way to soften the sharp angles of contemporary design, we’ve introduced curves throughout all spaces as an abstract depiction of ‘bending the rules of modern living’. A simple example will be seen through the curves of the kitchen island and living room joinery, the arches through the children’s room and the walk in wardrobe.’
The result will be fresh and exciting

KITCHEN
A sage green kitchen greets you as you enter the house to ease your transition from the outdoors into the calming tone which mimics that of the oasis outside. The joinery is seamless and simple with the added detail of the curved lines routered into the doors. The traditional herringbone parquet floor running throughout the open kitchen / living area is a homely touch under foot, and is mimicked by the tiles on the kitchen back splash. A curved ended island allows for a smoother circulation space around the kitchen rather than harsh angles.
LIVING / DINING
Stepping deeper into the space to the living area, rich jewel tones are introduced for added warmth and cosiness around the fireplace. To offset the block colouring in this area, a foliage printed wallpaper has been used within the centre of the wall profiles – a playful touch to a usually traditional feature. The double-sided fireplace wall has been used to create a subtle separation between living and dining – even though open plan is still at the forefront of people’s minds for modern living, home owners are starting to think of how to create some sort happy medium between open and closed environments. The floor changes once you step into the dining area, the same colour is used but a wide straight plank is here instead. As you now have a view out of the picture window to the tranquil courtyard, Oak cladding fills the fireplace wall to tie the interior space with the exterior.
KIDS BEDROOM
After walking through the deep-coloured hallway, you’re met with a jungle that will set a Childs imagination alight. Giraffe and palm printed wallpaper fills the walls, and a bed-meets-camp-hideout sits in the nook on the right. Large canopy lighting overhead and foliage adds texture and playfulness for a small but impactful room.
BATHROOM
An archway transitions you from the kids room to the bathroom where the jungle chaos is left behind and a monochromatic scene comes to life. The black and white geometric tiles run from the floor up the shower walls, whilst the white and Marsala coloured hexagon tiles clad the wall behind the black vanity. A curved mirror sits above the vanity to offset the linear nature of the tiles, and playful monochrome artwork is hung on the black wall opposite.
MASTER BEDROOM
In keeping with the rich tones seen at the start of the house, a burnt orange velvet headboard is the statement piece in this room. Whilst quite a daring colour, it’s softened with oak joinery in the dressing area, khaki green and earthy tones and textures, and traditional patterned cushions and art work. A lighting pendant hangs by the chair in the corner of the room to show a way to create a nook in an open space. Another arch is featured overhead into the walk-in-wardrobe where open shelves and rails are seen.
GARDEN
The garden is laid out to incorporate linear design elements but is heavily softened with the use of various natural textures. The timber slatted canopy and terracotta paving warms the area and is a contrast to the pale gravel grounded seating area at the front of the house. The shallow water feature adds the fluidity that we see in the curves throughout the interior, whilst the lone tree in the courtyard acts as exterior artwork that can be seen through the picture window in the dining room.
